Club History and Objectives:

On November 3, 1984, a small group of nineteen people from the Denver area met with the idea of forming a new dog club that would be open to everyone who owns or loves Pembroke Welsh Corgis.  The club was named the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Rockies, PWCCR for short.  The Club holds a general meeting at least four times a year as well as sponsoring other events.  With members who are active in agility, herding, tracking, and obedience as well as breeding and showing, you’re sure to find something of interest for you and your dog to participate in as well as a cordial and supportive network of Corgi lovers.

The Club holds a specialty show every year.

The goals of the Club are:

  1. Rescue, re-habilitate and re-home Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
  2. To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgis and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
  3. To urge members and breeders to accept the breed standard as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Pembroke Welsh Corgi shall be judged.
  4. To do all in its power to protect and advance the best interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials
  5. To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club and to conduct matches, educational events and other functions of interest to the membership.
  6. To encourage the membership to abide by the Code of Ethics; and
  7. To promote fellowship, helpfulness, and mutual sharing of knowledge and experience  among Club members.
